If I am already a yoga teacher, how can knowledge of Pilates help me?
Pilates is not just a series of exercises but a "philosophy of how the body should move while maintaining a neutral spine". Since Pilates movements were born from the process of rehabilitating the body after injury, its philosophy can be applied to ANY form of exercise/sport including yoga. You can apply Pilates' guidance to your yoga series to rehabilitate or prevent injuries for your clients.

I have never worked out before so can I be a good trainer ?
If you want to be good at anything, learn it, practice it, and teach it every day. It’s that simple! With Pilates or PT, you don’t have to be lean, muscular, or super fit to be a good instructor. What you need is passion, purpose, and hard work to inspire your students/clients. You need to serve without being a servant: you need to put their needs and desires above your own without compromising your health and happiness.

I only walk for exercise and I am very weak, can I teach Pilates & PT fitness?
If you are weak, you need to build some muscle to help you increase your bone density, reducing the risk of bone loss and arthritis (joint pain) as you age. Especially for women after 30, your bone calcium density will decrease by up to 30% each year by age 50. The ONLY way to slow this decline is through resistance exercise (drinking milk or taking calcium supplements will not help!). This is a benefit of Pilates because your body will become stronger after a few months. And as a bonus, you can continue to practice (or teach) Pilates well into your 80s and 90s, which is a great way to keep your muscles and bones strong.
